Am I required to contribute to the down payment?

Yes, you are required to contribute either:

• Cash: $1,000 or 1% of the purchase price, whichever is higher, OR
• Sweat equity: Instead of monetary payment, you can contribute your personal labor and time towards the home. This must be valued at a minimum of $1,000.
