  • For individual men – Lawrence Street Community Center, 2222 Lawrence St.

    • Lawrence Street is run by the organization Denver Rescue Mission (https://denverrescuemission.org/). By contacting Lawrence Street (specifically for cold weather response), they may also provide transportation to other potential shelters through their Denver Rescue Mission org.
  • For individual women – Samaritan House, 2301 Lawrence St. 
  • For youth ages 15-20 – Urban Peak (https://www.urbanpeak.org/), 2100 Stout St, call 303-974-2908.
  • HOST is now offering a free circulator bus service for persons experiencing homelessness from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
  • Families in need of shelter should call the Connection Center at 303-295-3366. 


Lambuth Family Shelter - Emergency Shelter for Families - (https://lambuthfamilycenter.salvationarmy.org/) - The Salvation Army

Provides emergency shelter for families and legal guardians with children. Participating families are provided a room to sleep in and intensive case management. The Lambuth Family Center houses up to 20 families at a time in a short-term emergency shelter.

  • Service Area: Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Broomfield, Denver, Douglas, Jefferson counties

Comitis Crisis Center - (https://comitiscrisiscenter.org/

Comitis Crisis Center is a family homeless shelter in Aurora. They also offer a VA shelter for Veteran families. Not only do they provide overnight shelters, they provide a monthly stay system! Every first week of the month, families can join their lottery to secure a bed for that month, which is helpful since it's longer than most homeless shelters who only do it on a night to night basis.

  • Their winter weather Activation is 24 hours in advance (activated by snow & ~24 degrees weather)
  • Text “Warm Up” to 313131 to receive real-time updates about emergency shelter, cold-weather activation, events, support, and more provided by Colfax Community Network, ADRC, and Comitis Crisis Center, programs of Mile High Behavioral Healthcare.

  • They have a “lottery” system for waitlists: The family shelter waitlist opens up every first of the month. Contact them as soon as possible around the week before it opens if you want your name added to that waitlist for the chance to stay in the shelter for the upcoming month.
  • Also accepts pets (as long as they have had their Rabies vaccination)
    • If not, the Aurora pet shelter provides the Rabies vaccination for free

A subprogram with Comitis Crisis Center, the Aurora Day Resource Center is a 24/7 shelter during certain times of the winter season.  During cold weather activation the shelter becomes a first-come, first-serve accommodation. It is specifically for individual adults.

  • SWSN provides emergency overnight shelter on life-threatening winter nights for the single individuals living on the streets in West Arapahoe and Jefferson counties.

The Place is a Colorado Springs emergency shelter (20 bed capacity) for youth between the ages of 15-20. Waitlist only takes an hour if there is bedspace.

The Salvation Army Shelter & Services at RJ Montgomery - (https://coloradosprings.salvationarmy.org/colorado_springs_corps/provide-shelter/

This Colorado Springs shelter houses and feeds up to 220 homeless individuals every night in a clean and safe environment for men, women and children to begin rebuilding their lives. The shelter provides dinner, informal breakfast, and caseworkers who help clients establish life skills, employment and a path to self-sufficiency.

Springs Rescue Mission - (https://www.springsrescuemission.org/contact

Helps the chronically homeless and financially struggling citizens of El Paso County with entry shelters, resource centers, sober living, food assistance, ect. Shelter includes 346 beds (plus additional mats during extreme conditions) for men. Women’s Shelter provides 104 beds. Also provides meals and food boxes. Meals served Monday - Sunday at 4 p.m., 4:30 p.m., and 5 p.m.

Murphy Center for Hope - (https://www.homewardalliance.org/murphy-center/

This is not an overnight shelter, it is a Day Shelter  (open from 8am-5pm) that is available to all in Fort Collins. Resource Navigators provide assistance with vital documents (such as social security documents, ID help, etc). Speaking with a resource navigator is first come-first served and is harder to get access to.

  • In order to get access to the day center, you’ll need to complete their intake form (15-30 minute process) which allows you to basically enroll in their services. Services provided are free meals, showers, laundry, and computer access.
    • Low-barrier, will not ask for your income history, homelessness status, or other background. Will just require your legal name if you seek to get assistance with your legal documents.

Lakewood Shelter - (https://www.lakewood.org/Government/Departments/Planning/Extreme-Weather-Shelters

Lakewood's Extreme Weather Shelter will activate when temperatures are forecast to reach 20 degrees or below. When activated, our unhoused neighbors can seek services at 8000 W Colfax between the hours on 7 p.m. - 7 a.m. Individuals or couples without children can access the shelter at any time during the hours of operations. No registration is required and the shelter is pet-friendly.

  • Eligibility Criteria: Available for single adults or couples without children.
  • Application/Intake Process: The City of Lakewood will update their website 24 hours before the shelter opens in response to potential extreme cold weather. Once their extreme weather shelter has opened up, there is no registration required and you can bring your pets to their physical location for an overnight stay.
  • Additional information: 
    • For families with children (as above the Lakewood Shelter does not provide shelter to families with children): Jefferson County will provide motel vouchers for families with children.

EChO Shelter - (https://evergreenchristianoutreach.org/get-help/evergreen-shelter-program.html

Evergreen Christian Outreach (EChO) Shelter is an overnight emergency shelter. Open from October 2024 to late April 2025 from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. Serves individuals and families. Pets are allowed. Call Shelter Hotline number at 720-598-2653 and leave a message. A shelter representative will call you back.

Hours of Operation: The EChO Shelter is currently open. The EChO Shelter is an overnight-only shelter. It will be open each night October - late April from 6:15pm to 7 am.

Services Provided: Overnight shelter which provides food security, shower, and laundry services.

Eligibility Criteria: Serves individuals and families in the Jefferson, Gilpin, Clear Creak and Park Counties area.

Application/Intake Process: All Shelter guests must first be registered by an EChO Case Manager at the EChO Office. To make an appointment to register, call EChO at 303-670-1796 or Call their Shelter Hotline number at 720-598-2653 and leave a message. A shelter representative will call you back.



Westminster Emergency Cold Weather Shelter - (https://www.westminsterco.gov/coldweathershelter)
City of Westminster provides supplemental emergency sheltering in extreme cold weather conditions for residents who may be experiencing an emergency loss of heat or lack appropriate shelter.

Agape Safe Haven - (https://www.agapelongmont.org/

Twenty-five beds for adults on winter nights mid-November thru mid-March or when weather conditions are met. Hosted by rotation of community congregations. There is an interview and application process.
