What is the Emergency Mortgage Assistance Program (EMAP)?

The Emergency Mortgage Assistance Program (EMAP) uses federal Homeowner Assistance Funds (HAF) to help homeowners affected by COVID-19 get caught up on past-due housing/mobile home payments, property taxes, lot rent, insurance, and housing utilities.

EMAP was established to mitigate financial hardships associated with COVID by providing funds to eligible homeowners to prevent mortgage delinquencies, defaults, foreclosures, loss of utilities or home energy services, and displacements of homeowners experiencing financial hardship after January 21, 2020.
