In November 2023, Governor Jared Polis announced a special legislative session to address skyrocketing home values, increasing property taxes and increased cost burdens on renters. As a result, the general assembly created the Emergency Rental Assistance Grant Program.
This program will assist households at or below eighty percent (80%) of the area's median income and those who are late on rent. Assistance includes rental assistance (arrears and future months), rehousing assistance, housing stability services, case management, court costs, and legal fees.
This program is expected to open for applications in January 2024.
